 Biography

Larry grew up on the family farm outside Larned, KS.  He graduated from Larned High School in 1972 and from Kansas State University in May 1976 with a BS in Finance (and in 1985 with an MBA).   He chose to remain in Manhattan after graduation and make this area his home.  He started his 47-year career in residential and commercial real estate by working as a loan officer and real estate appraiser for Home Federal Savings and Loan for 9 years.  He then spent the next 14 years working as a licensed fee appraiser for both residential and commercial real estate.  For four of those years he worked as a commercial loan officer for Union National Bank, which became Commerce Bank.  For the last six of those years he owned his own real estate appraisal business, Fox Appraisal, Inc.

In 1999 he began his career with the Kansas State University Foundation when he was hired as KSUF’s Real Estate Manager.  He was responsible for managing gifts of real estate to KSUF from KSU donors as well as management, acquisition and disposition of the foundation’s real estate holdings.  He also acquired many properties for the benefit of the university through gifts or purchase; he acted as a liaison between the foundation and the university on several donor-funded campus construction projects; and he was on the real estate team that developed 270,000 sf of office space in the north campus area during his tenure.  He retired from KSUF in October 2023 as Sr. Director of Real Estate after 24 years of service.

Larry has been married to his wife Marilyn, a retired Anthony Middle School 8th grade science teacher, for 47 years.
